At SICWA (Sibuco Islamic Charity and Welfare Association), we are guided by the principles of Islam in caring for the most vulnerable in our community. Among them, orphans hold a special place in the Qur’an and Sunnah. Allah ﷻ repeatedly commands us to honor and care for orphans, saying:

“So as for the orphan, do not oppress him.” (Surah Ad-Duhaa 93:9)

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, himself an orphan, promised great reward for those who show kindness to orphans:

“The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be together in Paradise like this,” and he held his two fingers together. (Bukhari & Muslim)

With this sacred responsibility, our Orphan Support Program is dedicated to providing holistic assistance to orphaned children in Sibuco—ensuring they grow up in a safe, nurturing environment rooted in Islamic values. With your support, we can help them build brighter, faith-driven futures.

🏡 Foster Care

We connect orphaned children with caring foster families and safe housing, ensuring they receive stability, love, and protection. This fulfills the Islamic duty of kafalah (sponsorship of orphans), which is considered a noble act that brings immense barakah (blessing).

📚 Educational Support

Education is both a right and a responsibility in Islam. We provide school assistance, scholarships, and learning materials so that orphans can pursue their studies with dignity and excellence. By doing so, we prepare them to become knowledgeable Muslims and responsible citizens, guided by the saying of the Prophet ﷺ:

“Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.” (Ibn Majah)

🏥 Healthcare

Health and well-being are essential for a child’s growth. SICWA ensures that orphans receive medical attention, proper nutrition, and healthcare services, fulfilling our duty to safeguard the trust (amanah) that Allah ﷻ has placed upon us in caring for them.

🌱 Life Skills Training

Beyond their basic needs, orphans are nurtured with life skills and Islamic guidance to prepare them for adulthood. Through mentorship, vocational training, and tarbiyah (Islamic nurturing), we help them grow into confident, responsible, and faith-driven individuals who can contribute positively to society and the Ummah.
