At SICWA (Sibuco Islamic Charity and Welfare Association), we believe that feeding the hungry is an act of worship and a means of drawing closer to Allah ﷻ. Hunger remains one of the greatest challenges for many families in Sibuco, and Islam teaches us the virtue of providing food to those in need. Allah ﷻ says:

“And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, [saying], ‘We feed you only for the sake of Allah. We desire from you neither reward nor thanks.’” (Surah Al-Insan 76:8–9)

Through our Food Security Program, SICWA provides regular food distribution, nutrition awareness, and sustainable agriculture initiatives to combat hunger and uplift families—ensuring they are not only fed today but are also empowered for tomorrow.

🍞 Food Packages

Every month, SICWA distributes essential food packages containing rice, canned goods, and other necessities to struggling families. This program reflects the Prophetic teaching:

“Feed the hungry, visit the sick, and free the captives.” (Bukhari)

By sharing our blessings, we restore dignity, ease suffering, and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood in our community.

🥗 Nutrition Programs

Good health begins with proper nutrition. SICWA organizes nutrition programs to teach families about balanced diets, child nutrition, and healthy cooking habits. Inspired by the Prophet ﷺ’s guidance on moderation—

“The son of Adam does not fill any vessel worse than his stomach. It is sufficient for the son of Adam to eat a few mouthfuls to keep him alive…” (Tirmidhi)

—we empower families to practice healthier lifestyles in accordance with Islamic values.

🌾 Sustainable Farming

To break the cycle of hunger, SICWA supports sustainable agriculture projects by training families in farming techniques, distributing seeds, and promoting halal livelihood initiatives. The Prophet ﷺ said:

“If a Muslim plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person, or an animal eats from it, it is regarded as a charity (sadaqah) for him.” (Bukhari & Muslim)

This ensures long-term food security while turning every harvest into an act of ongoing charity.

🌱 Community Gardens

SICWA also develops community gardens, where families work together to grow fresh vegetables and fruits. These gardens strengthen cooperation, reduce dependence on external aid, and cultivate a sense of shared responsibility—fulfilling the Qur’anic command to “cooperate in righteousness and piety” (Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:2).

By supporting SICWA’s Food Security Program, you are not just feeding a family—you are earning continuous rewards (sadaqah jariyah), empowering livelihoods, and fulfilling a noble act beloved to Allah ﷻ.

“The best of you are those who feed others.” (Ahmad)
